About

About the Blog:

I'm Jenny, and I am addicted to romance novels.  I wasn't always a serious reader, but since the beginning of 2014, I've been filling all of my free time with books.  I started this blog in May because I love organizing my ideas after I finish a book.  This will be a review centered blog primarily focused on historical romance, paranormal romance, and urban fantasy novels, with the occasional contemporary romance and young adult novel.  I tend to get bored if my books don't have at least a bit of sexual tension; don't judge, you know it's delicious.  I am in no way a book critic.  My reviews are purely how I felt about the book but I will do my best to provide a good, comprehensive review.  I am just getting started now, but once the site gets set up I will start to set up a good review schedule.

About me:

I am a major fish nerd working on my Masters degree in marine biology.  When I'm not reading journal articles, I like to spend my time reading steamy romance novels... nothing follows up a nice study on fish sex reversal like some dirty 1800's scandal.  My favorite things to do when my nose isn't glued to a book are scuba diving, drawing mediocre pictures, playing video games (WITH DRAGONS!), and forcing my boyfriend to listen to the dirty scenes in all my books.

I love to escape into a book.  I think I am physically incapable of putting a book down once I've started it.  I will stay up until 7 am finishing a book if I have to.  When I was working on my undergraduate degree, I had time to read maybe five books a year for fun.  When I got a Kindle for Christmas in 2013, the addiction began.  I have a constant flow of library books, free books, and books I just couldn't resist buying.  My to-read list is constantly growing...I have years of not reading to make up for.

I love trying out new authors and series, but I (of course) have a few favorites.  My favorite urban fantasy/ paranormal romance author is Ilona Andrews.  I have read the Kate Daniels series multiple times, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.  I have been known to get stuck in a historical romance rut...there are just  so many, and there are just some times when nothing will do but a handsome, scandalous Duke.  My favorite historical romance authors are Sarah MacLean, Tessa Dare, and Lisa Kleypas...and Caroline Linden...oh God I love them all.  Karen Marie Moning is also wonderful...because Highlanders...YUM.
